Verena Pichler is a tenure track professor in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of Vienna focusing on the development of small molecules for therapeutic and diagnostic purposes.
She finished her Ph.D. with distinction in Bioinorganic Chemistry at the University of Vienna in 2013. In 2015, she received the Talentförderungsprämie of Upper Austria. After a postdoc position at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Vienna, she worked as postdoctoral fellow and PET production manager at the Medical University of Vienna. In 2018, she was promoted to Head of Radiochemistry and Biomarker Development. In 2020, she completed the postgraduate certificate program in Radiopharmaceutical Chemistry/Radiopharmacy of the ETH Zurich. Verena published over more than 45 articles, patents and book chapters.
As part of the Think Tank of the Society of Radiopharmaceutical Sciences (SRS-TT) she supports early career researchers.
